Beth, put your pictures on the blog or email them to me. Also, I would love for you to email me Justin's grad pictures.
The Stewart's really enjoyed Thursday also. Thanksgiving is probably my favorite time with all the family even though I really enjoy Christmas too!
I told Lisa that I thought we could do our annual Christmas Hay ride on the 18th but Glenn informed me that that is his school Christmas Party and since he is planning it we might need to be there. Please look at your calendars and let me know a date. I hope we will be able to work it into everyone schedule but I know we are all busy. Blog a date and we will vote on the best date.

Love ya all!!!!

Barbara

Back to reality!

Well, the short yet fun break is over.  Tomorrow we will all wake up and work our way back into what we consider a normal day.  All of you that get up and go to an office will finally have time to blog again.  Time off doesn't allow for blogging.

Kudos to Whit for getting her pictures on the blog.  I have some pretty good ones too, but I think Lisa has me beat.  What a pro!

The stars and angels are a big hit again.  Thanks to Lisa for being so gracious in letting us take up space in her store to market our family project.  Don't forget - if you need to purchase some for your own gift giving this season then let me know and I will make sure you get what you want.

Everyone have a great day and week

love

Thanksgiving Pictures

Hello!!

what's up people of the Sands family I am just doing this because I have not done this in a while plus I just wanted to say hey , hey

Updated Profile

I wanted to let everyone know that I have updated my profile. I would also like to encourage each of you to create and personalize your profile.

Emily - do you have Norbert's contact information? I would like to invite him on our next river trip. I think he would fit in really well. Jay has a tandem kayak and I am sure he would not mind sharing. Bob has plenty of room in his 2 man tent.

Norbert Exposed!

For those of you who missed the extraordinary performance of The Nutcracker, I thought I would post a picture of one of the main performers. Beth was enthralled by his performance and I don't think she had ever seen anything like that before! He is truly a very talented ballerina who has many talents that he struts on the stage! Emily should probably go ahead and reserve our tickets next year! Maybe we can get closer to the front next time! If only we could be that lucky!!!!!!

Thanksgiving is over :(

John and I have just come inside after sitting out and watching the fire burn down to embers. We finally put the wildfire Bob started out by dousing it with gallons of water! Mimi is sitting in the den reading the paper and hopefully (?) both kids are nestled upstairs in their beds! It has been a wonderful day! Thanks to everyone for coming! We love you all!

Thanks for a Great Thanksgiving!

Thanks to the Lee family for their hospitality. It is nice to have a place that we can all gather and burn things.
It was a perfect evening- good weather, good fire, good music, delicious food and great family and friends.
Have great rest of the weekend!
Dub

I am thankful for ...

This year, I am thankful ... that my family did not burn down my house.

just kidding.

Happy Thanksgiving again everybody, it was good to see everyone!!!

Love, Whitney

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I know everyone is going to be so, so busy today and not have time to look at the blog, but in case you do, check your pantry! I am taking a bunch of cans/boxes to the food bank tomorrow and I was just going to see if anyone had something they probably won't use. Mom and I cleaned out our pantry the other day and decided to just get rid of a lot of stuff, and organized everything. The pantry looks so clean and organized! And it feels good to actually do something about the shortage problem that keeps showing up in all of the papers.

Sorry that most of you will probably be reading this like 2 days from now, when all of the holiday chaos has calmed down, but I will probably still not have taken the boxes by then, so if you happen to have some let me know and I can stop by your house. Old jackets/coats/sweaters/gloves/blankets/stuff to keep warm with are good too!

Also - I have developed something in my eye that is gross and I will have to avoid human contact today, so if I don't hug you, sorry. I don't know if it is an infection or pink eye, but it has also made me really tired - I fell asleep last night before 9:00 and didn't wake up until 9:00 this morning. So anyway, I guess this means you won't be getting a Christmas card from the Lee family because we were scheduled to do our pictures this afternoon, and that is NOT going to happen, haha.

Hope everyone enjoys their turkey and dressing this afternoon, and see all of y'all tonight!!!
Whitney

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I have so much to be thankful for - family is always at the top!

We can't wait to see you all tonight!

love and turkey

Hello Bloggerville!

Yes,  Dub and I are still enjoying our time together.  We are pretty good at making the most of it!

Jay.  Props to you for calling out all bloggers.  I wondered the same thing last night and called Aunt Di to check on her since she had not posted in like FOREVER!  She was fine just busy busy getting ready for all of us crazy people!  Jay I will be glad to pull heads - I hear I'm pretty good at it.  We should be there by about the same time.  I saw one of Dub's past posts that he was hoping to be there by 3.  We should be updated with all my families going ons by then.

Oh, by the way, we are bringing 2 extra people with us Thanksgiving night.  Brandy - of course you all know - but also Jeff Martin.  He is meeting us in Augusta for lunch and following us to the boro for the weekend.  He is the new youth minister at my parents house in covington and all of his family is in Texas.  He is really nice and I would love for he and Brandy to get the know each other better.  But this is not a set up!!!!  They have met before briefly.

Just a little F.Y.I  anyone in Statesboro that takes the time to read the police blotter this week do not be alarmed if you see William D. Sands IV.  It was a crazy mistake and momentary loss of judgement on his part.  We will explain Thursday night.  But, like I said no biggie!!

We love you all and can't wait to see all of you!

GOBBLE GOBBLE TIL YOU WOBBLE WOBBLE

betha

Where are the Bloggers?????

What's wrong with you bloggers. Nobody has posted in 2 days. Don't tell me ya'll already have the "blogger blues". Is anybody out there? I can understand Dub and Beth not posting since their children are out of town and they are all alone, but the rest of you have no excuse!!

We have been hosting the Cook's for the past couple of days at our house. Our girls have been excited and having fun with Anna Kate around for the past couple of days. We all went to the new Japanese Steakhouse (Myabi's) last night. It was pretty good.

I took Bob fishing yesterday and we had a great day. We caught the limit on trout and bass and caught several sheepshead. I took some good pictures of him and if I weren't so unintelligent I would post them to the blog. He couldn't hardly walk this morning (I can really tell that he is getting old!).

We will leave to go to Charleston in the morning and hopefully be in Statesboro by 4pm. I will bring about 20lbs of shrimp to Statesboro, but they won't be headed. They are actually still swimming right now, but he comes in this afternoon and I will go out and get them off his boat. So I will need some help heading the shrimp. John, the girls are excited about riding the horses.

We are camping out at the river on Friday night and we want all the guys in the family to come. Even if you don't spend the night, you can at least come out and eat a steak with us.

We can't wait to see everybody, especially Mimi and Grandma Di !!!!

Mallory was great. I think she wants to try out for the TCHS football team next year. It was a lot of fun. When I get the pictures I will post them.

Barbara
BRAVO! BRAVO!
Anna Kate finished her last Nutcracker performance today (until next year). She did a great job! Thanks to those who came today and spent the extra five bucks per ticket for the sweets party. Anna Kate loves knowing someone in the audience is watching her. I am so glad that this Thanksgiving season is here, we all have so much to be thankful, one of them being this wonderful family that we are apart of. Can't wait to see everyone Thursday!!!

Love,
Emily

Full Bloom??? I don't think so!

I have to disagree with some of Beth's assessment of the Ballet today. While I agree that Anna Kate was extraordinary in each of her performances (Party Scene, Soldier & Gingerbread Girl) I have to disagree with the full bloom remark. I have to think it was more of a budding flower not yet in full bloom (at least I hope!!! - if it was in full bloom then there is going to be a lack luster performance that will leave the audience wanting for more!) Tell Dub that I will foot the bill for the white tights! I guess I better go before I get sanctioned and put on restriction from the blog!
Lisa

THE ARTS WERE IN FULL BLOOM TODAY!

What a day!  What an exhibition of full blown art at its finest!  Not only was I given the opportunity to spend the day with my family that I love dearly, but I was also exposed to a form of the arts that I just don't spend enough time concentrating on.  Dub always said I should experiment more with different art forms.  My favorite parts - of course and without doubt - were any and all parts that involved my beautiful and talented niece Anna Kate!  She was marvelous.  Anna Kate I am so proud of you and how hard you work at your dancing.  I can tell just how much you love it.  After the halftime entertainment I found myself a little hungry. Wanting only to snack on things like crackers.  It did, at times, cause my mind to wander to more important things like what would be good food for Thanksgiving you could just grab with your fingers like little smokies, pig in a blanket and meatballs.  Great party foods, but each leaving you at times thinking there should have been more to it or you just never get fully satisfied.

Anyway, back to the performance.  Dub has already agreed to start training for next years nutcracker - LISA NOW I GET IT!  NUT CRACKER!  Until now it never made any sense to me, but after that performance and that professional balleriman I finally get it.  My day is finally complete.

If you were unable to attend this year for any reason - shame on you!  You missed a great show. I am sure Anna Kate and her mother will forgive you.

Until my next post

Peace out
betha

River Trip

Hey Everybody-
Daniel and I had a great time at the river.
John- your boat and trailer are still there. However, it was too cold to do anything except to sit around the fire, eat steak and listen to SHS.  You can't really tell from the photo, but that is a steep drop from the ramp to the water. I think we can get it next weekend, when the muscle men- Jay and Bob ( and anyone else that wants to come) are with me. I have the keys, let me know if you need them before Thursday.
Whitney- I'm glad you are home.
Can't wait to see everyone Thursday!
Barbara- Give us a report on Mallory's powder puff game!

I'm Back!

Aunt Di you will be glad to hear I am back where I belong - the 'boro.  Everyone in S.C sends there love to all the family.  Cush and I are holding Gracin and Lukas Melissa's children (Cush's sister). It is great to be home.  It will just be Dub and I for a few days as soon as we drop off Daniel at William James in the morning.  Call first if you plan on dropping by.  JK!  The stars and angels are a hit.  I think they are excellent!!!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANDSOME UNCLE JOHN!  I hope many fish jump in your boat on your special day.  I can't wait to see everyone on Thanksgiving - each day I think of one more thing I am so very thankful for.  Brandy will be with us that night.  Good job to Justin for getting with the program and blogging in.  I will be attending the nutcracker tomorrow with Lisa at 2:00 if anyone else would like to come.  I hope everyone has a great night.

Love to all and peace!

                       Mikay

P.S. Whitney and Honey I am so glad you are both home.

Yay for finally being home

Hey Everybody!

Well, I just wanted to tell yall that I got on this blog last night when I was over at Yancey's house, and he kept reading over my shoulder. And then he asked if he could post something, and I told him it was just family - he's pretty jealous of our family blog, haha. Maybe he can use mine to post it later.

I wanted to go to Fripp with John today, but I am feeling really sick. Last night, Yancey and a bunch of his friends decided to have a cookout to get rid of a lot of the venison they had, and now I think I've been food poisened. That's what I get for eating something a bunch of boys made. But I could never be too sick to go see Twilight, so if anyone wants to join me & mom today, call us!

Win - not that you ever get on this thing cause you are "too cool" - but last night Colby was bragging on you for your basketball skills. He said they played y'all not too long ago and you were good.

Oh, and I can't wait to see the Nutcracker soon! And to see everybody soon!

Whitney

Hey Everyone,

The Nutcracker is going great. Anna Kate has done an excellent job. You would be so proud of her. HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNCLE JOHN! Here's your birthday joke from Anna Kate.....

What does a clam do on his birthday? He shellabrates .

Love,

Emily and Anna Kate

Hey Everyone!

Whitney & Honey got home safely tonight!! John is going to Fripp tomorrow fishing and Whitney might go with him. I'm going to see the movie Twilight tomorrow. I've read all four of the books and I'm excited about seeing the movie. Win has his driving class all next week so he is really not getting much of a break from school! He has to go Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9:00 to 3:30 each day. I don't think he is too excited about it but it is now a law that they have to have a 30 class (Joshua's Law) before they can get their license. Mimi is coming over to help me get ready for our Thanksgiving Lunch. Whitney is armed with lots of Paula Dean recipes. She is hooked on sweet potatoes and spice cake right now! For those of you who will not be here - you will be missing out! Mark your calendars - Win's 1st basketball game is December 2 against DEA in Stillmore. Then he has a game on December 5th at BA against Pinewood. I'm ready for basketball!!! We'll see everyone on Thursday!!!! Get here as soon as you can! Horseback riding will be available until dark!

Lisa

Happy Birthday John

"HAPPY BIRTDAY JOHN"

I know your birthday isn't until Sunday (23rd) - but since you will be pulling in all those big fish on your birthday - I decided to go ahead send this greeting to you - to let you know that I Love You and I think that you are "Special".

So Happy Birthay and I wish you many more to come!!!!!

Diane

New Bloggers

I'm glad to see that Justin, lisa, and Kaitlyn have started blogging. The more the "merrier". Good Job with your blogs Kaitlyn - keep us all updated with what's going on with the "Rowe Girls". Justin I was surprised when you posted - I hope you keep it up. lisa, you seem to have the "picture posting" down.

Justin, I know you and Whitney are glad that you will have a few days away from those college classes. I'm proud of both of you. Whitney is coming in tonight - I just hope Bambi stays out of the way.

"Break A Leg" Anna Kate - your picture from the Nutcracker was very pretty. I'm sure that you are the prettiest and best 9 year old dancer performing. (You are to me.)

Daniel, I've been waiting to read the speech that you are going to make in Atlanta - post it please! If you keep making promises - such as sweet tea, subway sandwiches, and etc. to be served in school lunchrooms - You may be President of the United States one day. I'll vote for you!!!! If you and your daddy are camping out at the river tonight - you must be freezing!

Mikay, have a good time with Na (sp) and Pa this week. Uncle John will probably have the horses ready for you to ride as soon as you get here Thanksgiving.

You "Rowe Girls" better hurry your mom and dad to get here soon on Thanksgiving Day - before Mikay and Anna Kate wear out the horses (and Uncle John).

Leslie, you and mother better dress warm to shop in Savannah tomorrow. It's going to be cold.

John, I hope you catch lots & lots of fish this weekend. Lisa may cook for us sometime soon.

Dub and Beth will be alone this week with no kids - We must keep an eye on them!!!!

Jay, you need to bring a rather large cage when you come - You'll need it to get Lisa's surprise for the girls home!

Can hardly wait to see everybody Thanksgiving. I hope it's a little warmer than it is now. Love all of you!!! Mama/G'mama/Aunt "Di"

River Trip

Daniel and I are going to spend the night at the river on Friday. If anyone would like to join us that will be fine.  It is going to be a quick trip, we have to be back in Statesboro by lunch. We plan on grilling a steak that night then go to Mrs. Claudettes Saturday morning. Daniel and Mikay are going to Atlanta with Ken and Ann Saturday afternoon. Beth and I will be all alone for 5 days. (Keep your eye on the police blotter)

I can't wait until Thanksgiving, John and Lisa-  I will bring the oysters and the oyster cooker to y'alls house on Wednesday. I am hoping we can be there by 3:00 Thanksgving. (That may be optimistic but that's my goal). Mikay said she would love to ride the horses.

Have a great week!

Tall, Skinny, Bald Guy

Finally

Hey guys,

I know yall thought yall would never see me on here but i thought i would try one to surprise grandmother and plus i have no studying tonight for the first time all week. School has been so crazy but im doing everything i can to keep up in anatomy. I find out my 4th test grade tomorrow so pray for me because im really not sure how it will turn out. I also started my observation hours in my Athletic Training feild today. I followed the athletic trainer of the baseball team at baseball practice today. It was great and i think that i will truly enjoy this field. Other then that im just ready for a break. Cant wait til thanksgiving.

Love you guys,
Justin

one more thing...

Good Luck Anna Kate !!!

I know that you will do great in the Nutcracker!! See you soon!

hey!!!!!

Hey Everybody!

I haven't been on in so long! There was so much to read, but I really enjoyed it. I am sitting at a coffee shop in Madison on my lunch break just laughing & smiling at everything! I really love this little town, if you ever have a chance to come here you really should!
And I have some good news on that note - I decided not to work next semester because I was really missing out on a lot of stuff with my friends, and thought I would (hopefully) have the rest of my life to write but a year from now my friends will be scattered in different states. However, Tuesday night, they asked me to stay if I could, and I could set my own hours, and not even come into the office at all if I didnt want to. This would be great because I could keep doing what I love, keep getting paid, and have a LOT more time on my hands. And then this morning, the lady who does the magazine for the same publisher as the newspaper offered me her internship too. I know I wanted more time to myself for my last semester, but I think it is going to be really really hard to turn that down, even though it isn't paid. Their magazine is SUCH good quality (don't tell anyone but it totally blows the Statesboro Mag out of the water). Anyway, I'm really busy lately but loving everything that I'm doing. The stories I've been assigned to this week are really amazing and I'm getting to deal with truly great people. I can't wait to tell yall all about them when I get home.

And I can NOT wait until TOMORROW!!!! I have been looking forward to Friday afternoon for the past 3 weeks (actually, I think ever since this whole semester even started). I picked up a Paula Deen magazine the other day and found some YUMMY looking recipes that we have got to try! So yes, armed with my Paula magazines, I think I can cover the dessert part!
And I'm glad Kaitlyn had a good birthday! Those nintendo things are so much fun - just don't get too attached like Yancey (and John) have, haha. Daniel your bill sounds like such a great idea! If you have to keep working on it, try looking at calorieking.com (It breaks down the calories in different restuarants, and you might be able to find healthy options that way).
Can't wait to see yall soon!!!

Nutcracker

LISA
Call my cell phone and let me know if you decide to go Sat. night or Sun. at 2.  I can probably be here for the 7 p.m show Sat, but let me know so I can head back in time.  Is whit going with us?  I hope so.

I am leaving in a few hours to go see Cush.  I will tell her everyone said Hello (even if you didn't).

Can't wait to see everyone on Thursday night.  I'm sure I will have lots of interesting updates from my annual visit to my aunts house on Thanksgiving.  That Williams family - you gotta love 'em!

Gobble Gobble!

Hello family bloggers and blogetts

I havn't had much news lately and am kind of scared to tell any more fish stories since Jay sent everybody his fish pictures and showed me up... happy late Birthday Kaitlyn!!!!!! Nine is a great age- Its more than 8 and almost 10. Soon you'll be a teenager and know EVERYTHING about EVERYTHING... Just like Cousin Win... Mimi - I'm looking forward to some famous sweet potato caseroll and seeing everybody for Thanksgiving... If anybody wants to ride the horses, let me know and I'll catch them up before ya'll come. Daniel, if you are in the Capital in Atlanta you have to check out the Museum.. It's upstairs somewhere. I used to go with my daddy when he would deliver the tax digest to the revenue commission- His name was Tom Sangster(I don;t know how I remembered that or why) anyway, I would always spend a couple hours in the museum while they were meeting...It was pretty cool. I remember that it had lots of stuffed animals. I think it had a stuffed passenger pigeon... Which are extinct now. Anyway, I love everybody and are looking forward to seeing ya'll soon, especially Whitney, who is coming home on Friday, i think.... And now, Here's all the little peeps joke for the Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT KIND OF ANIMAL DOES A SECRET AGENT LIKE????????????????????????????? A SPY-DER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Love, Just plain handsome Uncle John

Big Letter Lisa vs. little letter lisa

I know that "lisa" is trying to be polite but I think the inuendo is the same. It's "Big" Letter Lisa and "little" letter lisa.

Anyway, Big Letter Lisa had a wonderful weekend at Fripp. I left on Thursday and came back on Monday morning. We had a lot of laughs, food & fun. I put on my pajamas Friday night and didn't take them off until Sunday afternoon!

As far as Thanksgiving - Leslie - you can bring whatever you want. Maybe an appetizer? It's up to you. Mama needs to make the hamburger cheese dip that Win likes. I'll pick up a bag of chicken fingers for the kids who don't eat seafood. If it is as cold as it is tonight we'll have to make a really big fire. I'll get John started on chopping the firewood.

Beth - the angels and the stars are the best yet!!! I want to keep them all. Ialso want to help paint some of them!

little letter lisa - ya'll can come and visit me at Doodle Bugs on Friday - I have to work :(

Emily - I think me and Whitney are going to come watch the Nutcracker. We will come either Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Do you think it will be sold out? If it is - that will be okay. We will just watch the video that Bob makes. Tell him he doesn't have to video the whole thing - just the parts with Anna Kate!

Mimi - we need to start working on the lunch menu. I was thinking turkey, dressing, peas, squash casserole, sweet potato souffle, cranberry salad and Whitney can make dessert. I also have a new biscuit recipe that is yummy! Let me know what you think.

Everyone else - peace and love!

Big Letter Lisa

Thanksgiving plans!!!

Hey this is Daniel and I was wanting to check in. I have not been bloging a lot lately but, I am trying to get better. I am going to the capital (Atlanta) on Thanksgiving break just for a couple of days for a thing at my school. What we do is we just go to Atlanta for a couple of days and see what its like to be in congress and to be debating what we think is right. I had to make a bill also, my bill was about getting healthy food choices in our cafeteria such as, Subway (I even had sweet tea in the bill). After I finished writing my bill the first time it was not what you would see in a congress like setting (a.k.a was not sophisticated enough). My deadline was almost up and I have never wrote to a sophisticated crowd I had no idea what to say. My teacher then said she would finish it for me. Come to my suprise next time I saw my bill sweet tea was out. So sorry Connor and Neal and all of the other public school kids I can no longer debate for sweet tea in our cafeteria. It is still a great bill though. Oh and it gets better, I now have to write a speech about my bill. I will post my speech asap. Well I'll see y'all later, love y'all, Daniel!
Posted by PicasaHey everyone, we are trying to figure the picture thing out.
Kaitlyn and lisa in savannah
Hey everyone,

This is Kaitlyn. Monday was my birthday and I got a Nintendo DS. Grandma, the other day I told you that the game I wanted was Fetch, but it is not. It is actually called Nintendo Dogs. Thank you to everyone for wishing me a Happy Birthday.

See ya later,

Kaitlyn

P.S.: I turned 9.
Hey Everyone! I'm not sure if I'm doing this right...so we'll see. Emily, I will check to see if we can come this weekend. My friend Jessica wants to come too, but I didn't realize it was so soon.

In case anyone was wondering, my name is in lowercase letters and Lisa Lee's begins with a capital letter. I will be officially known as "lisa in savannah" with this Blog.

By the way, I am looking forward to shopping on the BLACK FRIDAY and I am looking forward to those who will join Diane and I. I think I read that Emily would meet us too.

See Ya,
lisa in savannah

Important info.

Well Hello Family!!

I have a few things to blog about today, but first let me shout out to Leslie - I will be unable to go to Sav. since I will be in S.C.  and I agree with Jay that anything you bring Thanksgiving will be great.  Jay - sorry, but I don't know how to make cheese dip.  Do you mean cheese ball?  Never done that before either.  However I am very capable of going to "the hat" and picking up chips, salsa and cheese dip to bring.

Let Dub and I know a.s.a.p on how many people would like to eat oysters on Thanksgiving.  We have to order ahead of time and don't want to have too many left over.

Now for those of you who seem to be fascinated in my person interests.  My email box has been full of LONG q and a emails.  So here is me in all my glory:

I am named after most of the women on my mothers side - Elizabeth
The last time I cried they were tears of joy
I don't really like meat - much less have a favorite
I have 2 kids - both Dub's
I have had my tonsils and wisdom teeth removed as well as a bone from my right foot and several veins from my left leg.  My collar bone was broken to assist the stainless steel screw placed in my right shoulder - then it was ever so gently removed.  Any info on other medical procedures can be answered by Dub and Lisa.
I love granola cereal (homemade of course)
My shoes don't tie
Hot pink not red
I hate my skin tone - pale and freckles
Like everyone else in the family I miss Paul and Tom the most
I like alternative music
I would rather not smell anything - chances are pretty good around here it won't be good
I like all sports
My hair color changes monthly - whatever I am in the mood for
My movies really need happy endings - right Aunt Di
I love summer
No doubt I am a hugger not a kisser
I don't read
My special talent may be inappropriate for the blog and I don't want to risk the consequences like Dub just got over
No one needs to send this back to me and I hope I answered any and all questions

Thank you for caring enough to include me in your mass emailings
love always
betha
Emily Bess - I didn't know that appertizery was a word. I don't think that Sally Ramsey would be very proud!!!

Leslie - whatever you bring will be good. Somebody needs to make some cheese dip!!!

Jay

Nobody has given me any suggestions on what to bring for thanksgiving. Are ya'll trying to tell me something. I think Grandmother (AKA/MIMI) and I are going to Christmas in the South this weekend in Savannah. Would anyone like to go with us? I love this time of year. I am glad it is cold outside. I can't wait to have a big fire outside. I just wish Paul and Papa could be here. I miss them soooooooooooooooooooo much! Anna Kate--Aunt Leslie loves you and I know you will have a great performance this weekend. I Hope you all have a great week! Lots of love!

I hope it isn't too late for her to get her birthday message from aunt beth and the sands family.  I know you had a great time at your sleep over.  Your dad said you should have one every weekend and maybe even lauren and addisyn too.

I can't wait to see you all next week at aunt lisa and handsome uncle johns.

Jay you win the award for longest blog spot.  Man can you get out the info.  Keep it coming.  I love reading it.

I am also glad to see dub is back on the blog.  I had a hard time keeping him in time out all week.

I am on my way to see cush this weekend and will be back in the boro sat. night.

see everyone soon
love
betha

Hey Ya'll

Barbara,
I can't believe that you think people would rather watch a powder puff game than the ballet.
I am so excited abou Thanksgiving, I will bring some appertizery stuff. I will referee the Thanksgiving game. I just wanted to check in and tell everyon hey!
Emily
Well, I have survived my first slumber party. It wasn't bad, it was actually fun. I think Kaitlyn had a great time and it was good to see her interact with her friends. I think it was about 3am when they finally fell asleep. The problem now is that I am sure Lauren and Addisyn will want to do the same thing when their birthdays roll around.

I am glad that Dub has been allowed back to the blog after serving his suspension. I think he has learned his lesson and now understands what is considered inappropriate blogging. I am also glad that he didn't elaborate on his and Beth's anniversary activities, or else he might have had to be reprimanded again.

It's about 5pm on Monday and it has been a long day. Monday's unsually are. I will be going to Atlanta on Thursday morning for a meeting and will stay over Thursday night and meet some friends of mine and we will be going to the GA Tech - Miami game on Thursday night in Atlanta. That should be fun. I can hear John Lee now, "Does that boy ever work?" The answer is yes!!!

I think the laptop for Mimi is a good idea if that is what she wants. Just let us know and we will do whatever we need to do.

I will bring some shrimp next week for Thanksgiving so that we can cook along with the oysters. I will be happy to fry some, but I am not peeling.

I think the Thanksgiving game would be fun, as long as I don't have to put something between my legs and try to hand if off to Bob between his legs. I've always thought he acted a little funny?? Besides, I think our bellies would get in the way of the transfer!!!

It was good to see Daniel post to the web. Maybe we can get a good game of pickle going at Thanksgiving.

Dad's surgery has been postponed for about 6 months. The cardiologist wants him to get in a little better physical condition before he undergoes this surgery.

Mom, I hope you are feeling better and I love you. The girls ask about you all of the time. They are excited about going to Statesboro for Thanksgiving. They keep talking about going to Aunt Lisa's house and playing with Mikay and Anna Kate. Lauren wants to know if Homer and Honey will be there. She also asked me what kind of animal that Aunt Lisa might have for her. Don't you even think about it Lisa Lee!!!!

Can you believe the Eagles threw the ball 57 times Saturday against Furman. Erk must be rolling over in his grave.

See ya

Jay

Sunday, November 16, 2008

I am bringing a cake and something else for Thanksgiving. Don't know what yet. Sounds like everyone had great birthdays and anniversaries. Lisa, guess who I had supper with Friday Night? Marty Rogers. He is a preacher. We are with him before the game on Friday. Mallory has a powderpuff game Thursday if anyone wants to come. She saids that she is fast. Mama, Justin is probably coming if you and Win want to come.

Hope everyone has a great week. Only 11 more days till Thanksgiving.

Love ya!
Barbara
Hey Everybody! Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Emily thanks for showing up for our card playing date. It was so much fun. Hope you had a good shopping trip. What do ya'll want me to bring for thanksgiving? Help me decide. Beth, I think all of us going in on a coumpter for Mimi for Christmas is a great idea! Lots of Love!

Leslie

Have a great week!

I'm back! I had to serve a one week suspension for posting inappropriate content. I was also accused of posting a false photo on my viewer profile.

Beth and I had a wonderful anniversary. That is all I'm going to say, I do not want to be suspended again.

Thanks to Aunt Di for allowing Mikay to sleep over on Friday.  Aunt Di also made a meatloaf (just for me) and it was awesome! I feel pretty confident that I am now on the list of her favorite men! Of course, I can not compare to Handsome Uncle John, or Straight A Glenn, but at least I am on the list (until Thanksgiving anyway).

Mimi- I'm glad to see you are keeping up with the blog, sorry I missed you last week.
Our sunday school lesson was on Being Content in Everything (Phil. 4:10-13). Our family has much to be Thankful for.

Have A Great Week!

I have an idea!

Mimi, please do not read this!  How about we all divide up the cost of the lap top for mimi and make it her christmas gift.  Leslie had already had that idea when mimi mentioned the laptop at her house.  Let me know.

Well, Jay I can understand you wanting to defend your tiny yet digestively powerful youngest daughter, but the fact remains that Bob doesn't "share" his business at other peoples homes.  And in the case of emergencies he keeps his homemade "bucket potty" close by.
So Addisyn - know your aunt betha loves you more than Christmas scented air freshener, but I am convinced that was all you at aunt Lisa's last year.  Nothing at all to be ashamed of - grown men wish they had your capabilities.  Enough of that!!

Gottcha on the angels and stars Lisa.  Anyone else need any just let me know.

Peace Out
betha

Info and answers

First of all -

Happy Birthday Bob! Please let me know if there are any new experiences I need to plan on when you turn 49! John will be there in a couple of weeks and I want to be prepared!

Happy Anniversary Dub and Beth! Do you have any "special" plans for the weekend? Maybe ya'll can go back to that country buffet you ate at on your honeymoon!

Beth - I need 10 stars & angels personally (not including for doodle bugs) for my atlanta christmas crowd. I go up for that party on December 22.

Jay - you can post a picture by clicking on the picture icon on the toolbar (it is next to the abc with the check). Then you browse and choose where your pictures are located on your computer. Pick the picture that you want and click on upload and voila! it appears in your post!!

Win's basketball schedule is online at http://www.bullochacademy.com/ then go to athleteics - sports - varsity basketball and you will get the schedule. We will be playing the thugs of Memorial in Savannah on January 9.

Mimi - I will be glad to help you get a laptop. I think you can get one for a really good price unless you plan on doing a lot of gaming!!! If you just want to browse the internet, maybe do some online shopping and email and blog we should be able to find you a bargain!!

When do you want to come over to start working on our Thanksgiving meal? Whitney is excited and has started looking to Paula Dean for help!

Everyone - I'm excited about everyone coming for Thanksgiving. Let me know if you are coming for lunch. I guess we'll do boiled shrimp, crab stew and oysters for dinner! If you have any other suggestions, let me know!

John said he wanted another baby. I think this one looks a little like him!

Fripping out!

Lisa

Don't Blame Addisyn!!!

I can't believe that my precious little Addisyn is being blamed for the log that was laid last Thanksgiving at Lisa's house. I asked her about it and she said that Uncle Bob was in the bathroom right before her, so my suspicion is that he is the culprit.

Happy Birthday Bob!! I can't believe that you are so old. I mean, you are really, really old. Maybe now you will have enough money to finish restoring your Bronco seeing that you will get senior citizen discounts at all of the restaurants. Does Snooky's give free coffee to senior citizens?

Happy anniversary to Dub & Beth!! Beth, you are truly wonderful and such a tremendous asset to our family. You need to be commended for being able to put up with Dub for all of these years.

I am so glad that Mimi has joined the blog. We love you Mimi.

Ya'll need to pray for me tonight. Kaitlyn is having a sleep over for her birthday. We are having 9 girls spend the night with us tonight. It should be fun. We have alot of fun things planned. I can't believe that I have a 9 year old. Time has flown by.

Ya'll also need to keep dad in your prayers. He is finally having the surgery on Dec 4 to repair the aortic anuerysm that he has. They are doing a fairly new procedure, but he seems to be confident about everything.

We don't have much going on this weekend (finally!) except for tonight. I hope to sit around the house on Saturday and watch the Eagles and the Dawgs on TV.

Whitney, I went to that Morgan County website and read your article. I am so impressed and I am also so proud. You are very talented. Congratulations on your new internship.

Somebody needs to tell me how to post a picture on the blog. I have some good pictures, but can't figure out how to post them.

John and Lisa- I am still waiting on a basketball schedule for Win.

Betha, you need to quit thinking about all the butts and sausages of people that I attend church with.

Emily, what is the date of the Nutcraker?

That's it for now

Jay

ANGELS AND STARS!!!

Papa's Stars and Paul's Angels are here!  I just got some yesterday and have been trying to get a few ready to put out at Doodle Bugs.  They are made of metal this year, but the same look as last year - well a little different.  They look more like a wind chime to me.  Don't forget to spread the word.  They make great office gifts and small tokens of appreciation to give out during the holidays.  I think I am going to stick to the $10 per item again. Remember ALL of the purchase price goes to the local relay for life supporting the American Cancer Society.  Each angel and star is tagged with that important information.  I can't think of a better gift with such a meaningful purpose.  If anyone is thinking they might need a "bulk" order maybe more than 8 or so at a time let me know so I can get busy on them.  I want everyone to get what they want.  All checks made payable to the American Cancer Society.
The kids (no matter how young or old) can help me paint them when we get together over Thanksgiving.

Lisa, how is Savannah?

Everyone have a terrific weekend!
love
betha

Hey!

Hey Everybody!

Happy Birthday Bob! Happy Anniversary Beth & Dub!

Once again, I am in class. I did get to read all of the blogs this time! They were funny, I've just been sitting here smiling at them. I hope the professor doesn't see me because he will call me out and embarass me by asking me why I like communication law so much!

I wish I was in Fripp! It is rainy and ugly here. I really just wish I was home and it was Thanksgiving Break though! I can't wait to see everybody! Talk to y'all soon!

Whitney

Happy Birthday Bob!

Hey Bob- Remember you'll always be 2 weeks older than me... Lisa has abandoned me and Win to go to Fripp for a girls weekend...She even abandoned Homer too..We are all pretty traumatized! Win has the new Call of Duty game so I'm sure we'll just stay home all weekend and play it and miss Lisa.... Ok little blogger peeps- Your riddle for the day is:::::::WHO SPENDS THE MOST TIME IN THE BATHROOM???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????A PLUMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HA HA - Love Uncle John

HAPPY BIRTHDAY - BOB

Bob, I hope you have a great birthday!!!!

We Love You!!!!!

Family Reunion????

If you listen closely to the video - you can hear them yelling out "Barbara - Barbara - Barbara!" So the question is "Whose family reunion did YOU go to?" I'm sure it must have been on Glenn's side of the family since Tiner and Sherry were there and he's their favorite "Cuz"!
From Mimi:

I'm so thrilled! I never thought I would want a computer but now I have decided to get a Lap Top and learn how to use it. Lisa thats your department, maybe you can help me pick out one and what I need on it (Be sure an instruction book comes with it). Am enjoying the blog so much, Thanks again Whitney! Can hardly wait until Thanksgiving to see everybody.

"Happy Birthday Bob" It's been a pleasure to have you for a grandson-in-law. I think Emily did good. Know Emily went out of town but this will give you and Anna Kate time to have some "Daddy-Daughter" time together.

Love you all and can hardly wait to read the blog. Barbar has to type this for me. Gotta practice up on my typing. Love, Mimi
Lisa, Who's Family Reunion did Sherry and Tiner go to. Wasn't that Sherry running with the plunger?

I'm at Fripp!

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to let you know I made it to Fripp safely! John left me a bunch of dirty clothes and sheets over here that I am washing now. It is very foggy but hopefully tomorrow will be pretty. I'm by myself tonight but everyone else is coming tomorrow.

This is a picture from this summer!

Have a great weekend!!!!

New Game!

I love the new family game Lisa!!!  I would think the only rules would be that the equipment would have to be new or atleast clean!  So that means the plunger in the guest bath in your house is NOT available for the game - seeing how little Addisyn dropped the boulder in the bowl last gathering that I had the pleasure of unclogging from the pipes!

Great to hear from you Mimi!!!  This is great isn't it.  Whitney is so sweet and thoughtful to put this together for our family.

Brandy will be coming over for Thanksgiving at the Lee house.  She pretty much is family now at least on the Sands' side anyway.

Sorry no one could come with me to the self defense class tonight.  Me, Brandy and Sam took it together and it was a great class.  We will have to demonstrate at Thanksgiving.  I'm sure we could turn that in to a new game as well.

Just so you know - I talked to Bob.  So far so good.  He is managing to hold his own seeing how he is about to turn a year older and Emily will not be by his side.  He is aware of the family blog, but for whatever selfish reason has chosen not to blog himself - something about no time.

Well, time for bed.  Thanks for helping me out tonight Aunt Di.  You are the best.  How bout I spot you for gas next time you decide to take a trip to Savannah!

Love to all,
betha

TOO FUNNY

Lisa - the Thanksgiving Game is too funny. I really think I saw some of our family members in this video. I just got home from Beth's - I stayed with Daniel and Mikay while Beth went to learn how to fend off the bad guys. She and Brandy want to practice their techniques on our "bad guys" this Thanksgiving. That should be interesting!

I'm glad to finally hear from Whitney - I hope she has an opportunity to read all the blogs soon.

Where is Leslie - we haven't heard from her lately. Come on Leslie, let us know what's going on with the Fordham's.

Love Ya'll, Mama/G'mama/Aunt "Di"
******Peace and Love******

New Thanksgiving Game

I hope this works. I want to play this game Thanksgiving!!! I think everyone can participate and be successful! I'm trying to post the video so everyone can learn the rules! Hopefully it will work!
Lisa
Yes, Glenn is a Stud!!!!

Barbara
This is from Mimi!!!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! Whitney it was so sweet of you to open a blog we can laa use. When I read them it feels just like I've had a visit. It is so great to know what is going on in every famil - You can't imagine what that means to me - cause I love you all so much. See you Thanksgiving.

Oh Lisa, I would love to come visit before Thanksgiving. We will work out details later.

Love,
Mimi

two more weeks!

Hey Everybody!
I told you John, I can't play on the internet anymore :(. The only reason I can talk right now is because I am in class and would rather be on this blog than pay attention. I feel so deprived - I haven't watched Greys Anatomy or Heroes in like 2 weeks since the laptop has been out of commission!  Once I get that situation fixed I will be on this thing all the time! I'm so happy the way it has turned out!!!!
Everything in Athens is going great! My roommates were both out of town this weekend and so me and Honey had a girls weekend. She got to lay all over the furniture and break all of the rules, so she loved it. And me and Nancy (Nancy, not Yancey, people always get confused of who I am talking about, haha) took her out to this really nice park down the road and we hiked for 2 hours. We also went and saw Role Models (me and Nancy, not me and Honey), and it was hilarious. So funny - but definitely rated R for a reason. All of the funny movies are getting so bad lately!
But I am so excited for Thanksgiving! We get an entire week off so I am coming home on Friday Nov 21 unless I can't get off of work. Mimi, i haven't gotten a chance yet to read all of the blogs so I don't know if you've been on yet, but are you coming over to spend the night for Thanksgiving again?  I will start researching some more good Paula recipes!  By the way, if anybody has a free minute with nothing to do, you can see the website of the paper I work at @ morgancountycitizen.com. The website isn't very good, but they do a terrific job laying out the print version. If you search my name you can find my stuff.
Okay, well I should probably start listening and taking notes, but hope to get on this thing again soon, and better yet, can't wait to see everybody in person in a couple of weeks!
Whitney
Hello to all the Mimi Bloggers- Whitney, How come you are not posting anything about what's going on in Athens?? We would like to hear from you more up there! OK, Jay, those look like some nice fish, now when are me and Dub and Bob and Glenn going to get an invitation, or is it kind of like an invite to play golf at the Savannah golf club??? Alright little neices and nephew peeps, here is ya'lls joke or riddle for the day........WHY DON'T ELEPHANTS GO SKINNY DIPPING???? Cause they can't get their trunks off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love, Uncle John (The good looking)

GO GLENN

Glenn, all this time I thought you were in the back studying until I read Barbara's blog. I didn't know you were doing "STUD" work. No wonder all the guys keep on talking about you.

Beth and Dub both changed their profile pictures - I can't tell whose picture Dub is using.

Jay, I liked the pictures of all the fish. John come on and post some of yours. We'll have a fish off here on Mimi's blog. Bet they would taste good!

I'm disappointed that Win's basketball game has been cancelled. I'm looking forward to the season getting started.

Lisa, I hope you have as much fun this weekend as I did last weekend in Savannah. If you had invited me, I could have shown you some places that you will probably miss. Your loss!

Emily, I hope you have a great time shopping and please bring Bob a special birthday present.

Love, Mama/G'mama/Aunt "Di"

Beth's Profile Pic

Why did Beth take her picture off her profile? To me, that picture epitomizes the reason that I am so thankful to have Beth in our family. With all that she does for others - from organizing vacation bible school every year to teaching the seniors water aerobics during the week - that picture showed why she is such an asset to our family! It showed the true spirit of Beth and as for myself, the things that I love most about her!!! If you didn't get to see it before she so selfishly removed it, we might can get her to put it back up if we all ask nicely!

PLEASE!!!

Lisa
Sorry I have not blog but I have been relaxing and enjoying a weekend away. I think the drawing is fixed!!!! (Ha! Ha!)

Why can't we girls every go away for the weekend again. We had a ball last time.
I will call Bob on his birthday. Is it the 5 0???? Emily I can't believe you are leaving poor Bob.
Jay, tell Katilyn I am proud of her and I will see her Thanksgiving.

Mallory has powderpuff next week (Thursday) I can't imaging her playing football. She got her hair cut pretty short yesterday. It is cute. Cut up short in the back and a little longer in front.

Justin is not feeling well. I had to get him some medicine today. Maybe one of you could make him some soup. No really he just has a cold and I think he is tried. With Studing (like his dad), flag football and working I think he is tried and needs a break. Flag football is over for him because they lost in playoffs last night.

We won our football game Friday and head to Brooks County this Friday. Say a prayer. They are big strong and fast. We will probably take a tail whipping but maybe not.

My article comes out Thursday and if all goes well I might even let Whitney get the next interview on me. I know people will start calling wanting to personally interview me but I will hold off for Whit.

I done for tonight, talk to ya'll later.

Love to all!

Barbara

NO BLOG FOR BOB?!

So - we talk about Bob like he is incapable of participating or maybe he hasn't been invited. OUCH!  Maybe ms administrator needs to handle that one.
Okay all interested in starting your shopping season grab a pen and paper.  The results of the drawing are as follows:
Lee Family - Justin and Daniel
Rowe Family - Mallory, Win and Anna Kate
Stewart Family - Whitney and Lauren
Sands Family - Addisyn and Neal
Cook Family - Connor
Fordham Family - Kaitlyn and Mikay
Any and all complaints should be directed to the complaint department - Emily.
So Lisa what are you going to be doing in Savannah this weekend?  Is aunt di going with you?Probably not since she was there last weekend.
Just so you all know my profile has been updated and more "appropriate" for family blogging!

What is round on both ends and high in the middle?

answer on next post.
betha

How OLD is Bob anyway???

Poor Bob. I think this is his last birthday under the big 5-0. Too bad he will be celebrating by himself! I would have him over for dinner but I'm going to be out of town.

I'm not sure John is glad to be home. I think he'd rather be over at fripp fishing but somebody has to support me! (and win and whitney!!!) We are glad to have him home.

Win's first basketball game that was scheduled for November 21 has been cancelled due to our football team making it to the elite 8. There are five players that play football that have not been able to start basketball practice. Win is still practicing 2 hours every day.

Whitney is applying for a new internship next semester with Southern Distinctions. It is a really cool magazine based out of Athens that does high end layouts of homes, food and happenings around the south. Also, the new Statesboro Magazine hits the stands sometime this week. Make sure you pick up a copy and read her latest article "Drift with Anne". If you missed her last article "Where I Come From" you need to read that. It is one of her best so far (IMO)!
Barbara, I gave Justin's phone number to Dorsia Atkinson so he'll probably be calling him about a bible study they are having on tuesday nights.

Well, I'll be out of town this weekend like Emily (but it is not my husband's birthday!). Ya'll keep it real!

Lisa

Poor Bob

Yes, I am going to leave Bob on his birthday. His birthday is Friday, I can't help that it fell on my annual shopping trip. Please call him and tell him Happy Birthday so he doesn't feel forgotten. I promise he will surrive. I am ready for a fish fry too, can we add hushpuppies and squash? Alright Uncle John we need a new joke.

I will go by Betha's and draw names today! Betha you know how

I like to get presents but I'll try to go with the flow.

Love Ya'll

Emily Bess

Emily!

In response to your "name drawing" interest - I am fine with you drawing names for the kids.  If it will make you or anyone else feel better then just come over and I will supervise.  Leslie and I talked about our side of the family and the drawing that we normally do and are planning on switching it up a bit this year.  However, it will not effect the DRAWING of kids names.  Just don't try to jump ahead like I know you like to do and get any more than that done.
Handsome uncle john I am so glad to hear you are back and you brought fish with you.  Yeah Lisa we need a fish fry!!
Mikay has signed up for basketball so clear your calenders!  Maybe she can dance her way down the court and you can knock out two shows for the price of one!
Okay - Everyone have a great night!
As always,
love
betha
Emily, Are you going to leave Bob on his Birthday? Isn't his birthday Friday? Aunt "Di"

Hey Ya'll

I will be out of town thursday through Saturday, please check on Bob and see how he is doing. He has birthday parties and such to tote Anna Kate to. I am glad to see that John is keeping up with the jokes. Anna Kate likes to respond to Uncle John. I am still waiting for a response about drawing names, let me know. I hope that everyon has a great day. Emily

Mimi's Better

Talked to Mimi and she says she is much better. Barbara came home today and Glenn will come home tomorrow.

John, I'm glad you had a successful fishing trip and I'm glad you're back in the "boro". We missed your jokes.

I understand that Betha is trying to become a member of Jay's church. She seems to have a great interest in their extra-curricular activities. She may miss her gratutities at home though.

Uncle David has joined the blog, I see. He hasn't blogged yet - maybe after some of the reads he may have changed his mind. Hope not.

Love, Mama/G'mama/Aunt "Di"

Elvis is back - He's been with Alice in Wonder Land all this time!!!!!

Hey fams: I am happy to report on a great fishing trip to Fripp Island.... Many nice bass and trouts were caught . Wish I could say I am happy to be back in Statesboro but NOT! The weather was beautiful and the fishes were biting. My guest (Andy Oliver) Completed the elusive Carolina slam of saltwater fishing thanks to my expert guiding abilities! For those of you that haven't done it(Jay) a Carolina slam is catching a trout, redfish and flounder in the same day... Anyway, see if ya'll can talk Lisa into a fish fry... Congrats and props to Katlin for making it through the obstacle course... HOORAY! Ok, little peeps, here is ya'lls joke(riddle) for the day. WHAT WEIGHS 2000 POUNDS AND WEARS GLASS SLIPPERS????? ??????????????????????????????????? Cinderelephant!!! Love from Handsome Uncle John
Jay you can call the Averitt Art Center and have themhold tickets at will call. If not let me know and I will get them. She would love to have ya'll come.

Say What Jay?!

Well, I will be glad to discuss the large gratuity I received from Dub when I see you, but my question to you is what kind of church do you all go to where you handle the butts and sausages of 350 fellow church members?
I can't wait till Thanksgiving!  Will there be a bonfire?  Or has the fire chief asked that we not allow Bob around fire while slightly inebriated.
I will be making my annual trip to S.C. to see Cush the weekend before Thanksgiving - I will tell her you all said hello!
I will try to include pictures on the next post.
Sleep tight.
betha
Aunt Di-
You can view my profile now.
Betha

The Rowe's

Mama, you are right. I am tired. I was up at 5am on Fri & Sat cooking Boston Butts, and then I was up at 6am this morning because I had to go up to the church and chop up all of the butts and cut all of the sausages. Homecoming at our church went well. We had about 350 people, which is a good crowd for us.

I listened to the Eagles and the Dawgs while I was cooking Saturday. I thought the Dawgs were going to blow it too, but they managed to squeak it out. Hopefully the Eagles can beat Furman on Sat to avoid a losing season.

I am confused (as usual). Was my mother in Savannah or not? And if so, what was she doing here without calling me?

Great pictures of the kids on the blog. Whoever posted them, keep on posting.

Kaitlyn competed in a "Tuff Man" contest at our church on Friday night. There were about 45 kids (Boys and Girls ages 3rd - 5th grade). She was the only one in the whole group to get through the entire course. She was recognized afterwards and won some prizes and then she was recognized again at church this morning. It was an obstacle course (a tough one). You had to do pull-ups, a ropes course that was tough, rope climb to about 20 feet, a swinging balance beam, zip line, monkey bars, a rope swing out over the water, and several other things. I was proud of her.

Lisa took the girls along with some others from our church to see High School Musical 3 at the Sunday Matinee today. I am at the office working trying to catch up, but I figured I had better blog or else I would be cast out of the family.

Dub's blog was interesting. I want to know what kind of "large gratuity" that he gave Beth after she cut his hair in the warm morning sun. Keep in mind that this is a "clean" family blog!!!

Emily, Lisa wants to know what she needs to do to get tickets to the Nutcracker to see Anna Kate? Can we order them online somewhere?

As far as Justin contributing to the blog, I think that blogging is the last thing on a 19 yr old male freshman at GSU's mind. At least it should be.

That's it for now. I have to finish some work.

Jay

PROFILE INFORMATION

When I click on your name on the left hand side - I'm given the information that your profile is not public or something to that effect. It's where you go in and put your personal information. Dub did it - didn't you see the picture he put on his profile? Gutsy!

Leslie and Brian took Mother home this afternoon (thank you). She still wasn't feeling too well. She says that she's drunk when she's sits or stands up - but is some better now. I talked to Barbara at Jekyll and she said that Mallory would spend the night at home and keep a check on her. Leslie and I both tried to get her to spend the night with either one of us but she wanted to go home. I can understand that - if I don't feel well - just let me go home to my bed. Maybe she'll feel better tomorrow. Barbara plans on being at school by 8:00 so she'll be in town if mother needs her.
I read Whitney's article that she wrote for the Morgan County Citizen newspaper about hitting one of Bambi's relatives. If you go to the newspaper website and type in Whitney Skeeters in the search box - the articles that she has written will come up. She is a very good writer.
It was fun reading all of the post today and seeing the pictures. Keep it up.

I'm not sure what you mean by  "why haven't I made my profile viewable".

Explain it to me and I will fix it as soon as possible.

A blast from the past!

LISTEN UP LADIES!

This goes out to all the fine women in blogland.  This Wednesday November 12 at 7:30 pm there is a rape prevention seminar and demonstration class at Statesboro Karate.  It should last about 2 hours and the cost is $25 per person.  With this fee you are given 2 free weeks of Krav Maga classes.  Dub and I would love for you to come to Krav!!  The fees for the class are used to pay for a certification class that one of the instructors is going to soon.
I am planning on attending the class if anyone would be interested in going with me.  Statesboro Karate is located across from the new El Som.
Other news from the Sands family:  Mikay has signed up for basketball again so watch for your schedules to be released after the first of the year.  She also has her dance "show" (not to be confused with the nutcraker anna kate) on Wed. Dec. 7th at 4:30.
Lisa if anyone asks where you are next weekend we will tell them you went to Savannah.
I will bring something sweet to Thanksgiving unless anyone has something else in mind - of course something sweet other than Dub!
Keep up the blog!

A Picture for You

I'm Posting!

I haven't posted because I have been VERY busy with my Open House on Thursday, Friday & Saturday. I worked from 10 a.m. til 8 p.m. on Thur. and Friday and all day on Saturday! John left on Thursday to go to Fripp to fish. He says he has caught a bunch of fish and might not come home! Maybe we can grill some fish also on Thanksgiving! The Open House went well but was not as busy as last year. I don't know if it has anything to do with the economy or if people just aren't thinking about Christmas cards yet. Hopefully, it will pick up. I have a lot of inventory for Christmas that needs to be bought! Win went to Atlanta yesterday with Taylor and her parents to her softball tournament. They left yesterday at 5:30 a.m. and didn't get home until after 2:00 a.m. Needless to say, he is still in the bed now! Unfortunately, tomorrow is Monday and it is back to work! I am going to Fripp on Thursday for a quick girls get away. November is a big birthday month for my friends (Kristen - 2nd, Dawn Mallard -3rd, Lisa Howell -6th and Cindy - 8th). So we're just going to chill at the beach for the weekend instead of buying birthday gifts! (I would go broke this month!). Pitty Pat is also going with us so it should be a fun weekend. Since John is out of commission this weekend - I'll give everyone a joke:

What kind of animal would you hate to play cards with?

A Cheetah!!!!

and my all time favorite -

Why did Tigger look in the potty?

He was looking for Pooh!!!!!!!!!

Love everyone!!!
Lisa

Hey Everyone,

I hope that all is going well with everyone! It has been a fun but fast. Anna Kate had Nutcracker all day Sat. and again today. We need to draw names for Christmas because I am going shopping on Friday. I' will be glad to head this up and let you know who you drew just let me know. If you don't trust me I'll go to Beth's and let her watch. I am very excited about oysters and shrimp. Jay I'll let Bob peel the shrimp. Aunt Di did you really go to Savannah or are you hiding from someone.

Love to all,

Emily

PS , John Here's a joke from Anna Kate

Why didn't the hotdog star in the movies?

Because the rolls weren't good enough
